Guy Dale

I started skiing at the age of two on the slopes of France and Austria. But it wasn’t until I began training and eventually racing on the dry slopes of the UK that my true passion for the sport took hold. After finishing my education, I knew that ski teaching was what I wanted to pursue — what was meant to be a single gap year quickly turned into a lifelong journey of back-to-back winters and a life spent on snow. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to do what I love every day and to share that passion with others.

Since 2007, I’ve chased endless winters between hemispheres. In the north, I’ve based myself out of Whistler Blackcomb and SilverStar Mountain Resort, eventually settling in Pemberton, BC. From there, I’ve continued to work in Whistler while also exploring and teaching in ski fields around the world — including China, Japan, Europe, Finland, and the United States — and I’m determined to keep expanding that list. In the southern hemisphere, I first called Mt Buller in Australia home before moving to the Rookie Academy in New Zealand, where I now coach at Treble Cone.

My approach to skiing and coaching is grounded in a deep pursuit of technical excellence. I'm continually pushing myself to grow — diving into biomechanics, motor learning, and skill acquisition theory — always striving to better understand how we learn, move, and improve. I hold the highest levels of ski instructor certification in both Canada (CSIA) and Australia (APSI), and I’m a senior examiner and Demo Team member for the CSIA. I had the honour of representing Canada at Interski 2023 in Levi, Finland, and I’m proud to be selected again for Interski 2027 in Vail, USA. I’m also a CSCF Development Level Race Coach and Performance Level Trained.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the honour of showcasing my skiing on some of the sport’s most technical and inspiring stages. I’ve served multiple terms with the CSIA Demo Team and was a longtime member of the Whistler Synchronized Ski Team. With that team, we competed at the World Synchronized Ski Championships in Aspen — earning two third-place finishes before taking the top spot in our final appearance. These experiences have shaped not only my skiing but also my appreciation for precision, teamwork, and performance under pressure.

What keeps me inspired year after year is the way skiing brings people together — through rhythm, challenge, and shared joy. It’s a sport that continues to evolve and teach me, both on and off the hill. As a global ambassador for Head, Auclair, and Varga, I’m proud to represent a lifestyle rooted in movement, learning, and connection — and to pass that passion on to every skier I work with.
